EuroCham warmly welcomed Leticia (Tisha) Boatman (Senior Vice President of Global Access to Healthcare) and Wulaning Putri (Head of Government Affairs and Business Development) from Siemens Healthineers, a member of EuroCham Indonesia, on November 3rd. The Secretariat provided a brief presentation on EuroCham’s advocacy work and had an in-depth discussion on the regulations pertaining to the local content requirement and the accessibility of the healthcare system in Indonesia. Many thanks to Siemens Healthineers for initiating this visit and we look forward to upcoming collaborations!

On November 2nd, EuroCham was invited to the Global Project Quality Infrastructure (GPQI) event with a theme of Maintaining Quality through Conformity Assessment and Accreditation in Indonesia and Germany. The event is an online exchange about conformity assessment and accreditation focusing on Germany and Indonesia. This exchange was crucial for strengthening bilateral cooperation and improving mutual understanding in order to minimize barriers to trade.

Mr. Volkmar Stein from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Klimaschutz – BMWK) opened the exchange. He underlined the importance of an embedded and internationally linked accreditation system. Mutually recognized accreditation means that consumers can trust the quality of the products without having to worry about their origin. In addition, Mr. Enuh Rosdeni from the Indonesian Ministry of Industry (Kementerian Perindustrian - MoI) highlighted the competitiveness and increased confidence companies gain from the conformity assessment process, as it opens new markets and opportunities. He also expressed his delight at the continued cooperation between Germany and Indonesia after the signing of the Joint Declaration of Intent last year.
