On 11 March, EuroCham Import-Export Working Group convened a meeting focussing on Commodity Balance. EuroCham invited Krisna Gupta, Assistant Researcher at the Center of Indonesia Policy Studies (CIPS), as the main speaker for the meeting following CIPS’ recent policy paper on Commodity Balance. The meeting actively discussed the implementation of commodity balance on imports and exports, and updates on Commodity Balance regulations, including the recent Presidential Regulation No. 32 of 2022 on Commodity Balance, which already applies to a number of commodities. The meeting was chaired and co-chaired respectively by Rachmat Hidayat and Prita Hapsari as the Head and Deputy Head of the Working Group.
Meeting on Jakarta Government Regulation No 1 of 2014
A number of Eurocham member companies met virtually on March 8 that includes BASF Indonesia, Superindo, Danone, and Sanofi. The meeting sought to exchange updates and plan for advocacy activities related to the government's plan to promulgate Draft Governor Regulation as a replacement for DKI Regional Regulation No. 1 of 2014 on Detailed Spatial Planning and Zoning Regulations. During the meeting, the members shared the problems that occurred and how they had advocated to solve this previously. To follow up on the meeting, EuroCham has delivered a letter to the Jakarta Governor to propose a meeting to discuss the draft governor's regulation.
