Meeting with Ministry of Manpower

On 14 October, representatives of AmCham Indonesia and EuroCham Indonesia were invited to meet with senior officials of the Indonesian Manpower Ministry at their office in Jakarta. The Chamber representatives met with Suhartono (Director General of Manpower Placement and Development and Work Opportunity Expansion/Dirjen Binapenta & PPK of the Ministry of Manpower), Haryanto (Director of Foreign Manpower Control and Utilization/Direktur PPTKA of the Ministry of Manpower), along with other officials. The meeting was meant as a courtesy call and to discuss the topic of the Ministry of Manpower No. 228 of 2019, regarding Certain Job Positions Available for Foreign Workers. EuroCham was represented at the meeting by the Deputy of the Human Resources Working Group, Rakhman Sapta Ferdinansyah, CHRP of TMF Group, and Christian Nathanael Silwanus from EuroCham’s Advocacy team.

EuroCham appreciates the Indonesian government's ongoing efforts to improve the business environment through policy reforms in the labor sector along with other initiatives. We believe that flexible and adaptive labor policies promote investment, which is critical for accelerating the country's economic recovery, and future economic growth.

EuroCham also extends its appreciation to the Ministry of Manpower, AmCham, and the other foreign chambers in Indonesia that collaborated in this advocacy effort.

OJK Role in Supporting EV Development Ecosystem

On 18 October, EuroCham attended a webinar organized by the Financial Services Authority (OJK). The webinar, presented by the Chairman of OJK, Mahendra Siregar, highlighted the contribution of OJK and Financial Services Institutions in achieving the carbon neutral target in 2060 through a series of policies in the Financial Services Sector, such as supporting the development of the Battery-Based Electric Motor Vehicle (KBLBB) ecosystem. One of OJK’s key initiatives is issuing a circular letter urging the banking sector to support the growth of the automotive industry and the acceleration program for battery-based electric motor vehicles.
