Automotive Working Group Meeting
The EuroCham Automotive Working Group held its regular meeting on the morning of 22 April 2022. The meeting discussed a number of recent policy and regulations that are of relevance to the automotive sector, which includes battery-electric vehicles, local content requirements, low carbon emission regulation, import scheme in the sector, the newly introduced commodity balance mechanism for import and export, as well as the latest revision of the Customs Tariff Book. This meeting was attended by member companies from various sub-sectors who also got the opportunity to discuss these topics and exchange updates on the latest developments. The meeting was chaired by the Head of the EuroCham Automotive Working Group, Daniel Purba (Associate Director of External Affairs at Mercedes-Benz).
Meeting with the French Embassy
On 14 April 2022, EuroCham virtually met with representatives from the Embassy of France in Indonesia to exchange updates and views related to the implementation of the newly introduced Commodity Balance mechanism in the process of Import and Export. In this meeting, the French Embassy was represented by Arnaud Tripet (Deputy Head of Economy), Adele Grenaille (Economic Attache), and Melya Gustini (Sectoral Attache) who exchanged information and views with the EuroCham Secretariat Team on how the private sector views the implementation of the new policy in term of impacts on overall import and export process.
