Energy Working Group Meeting

On 28 July, the Energy Working Group conducted a regular meeting with the agenda of sector policy updates and a sharing session on "Legal Review of Power Wheeling in Indonesia”, which was presented by Kirana Sastrawijaya (Senior Partner of UMBRA-Strategic Legal Solutions) and Shafira Hexagraha (Associate of UMBRA-Strategic Legal Solutions). There are still issues in the implementation of power wheeling as stipulated on the Minister of Energy Mineral and Resources Regulation No 1 of 2015, which among others is related to restriction of activities in the business area that needs to be structured. The presentation also covers the comparison between power wheeling and open access system in the gas sector that includes the mechanism, tariff, base, as well as the requirement for implementing the system. The group also discussed policy updates on renewable energy, specifically about the draft presidential regulation on Purchase of Renewable Energy Power by the State-Owned Company, PLN, which aims to increase investment and accelerate achievement of the New and Renewable Energy mix target in accordance with the National Energy Policy.

Technology WG Webinar - Electronic Certificate and Digital Signature: Are We Ready?

Through the implementation of the Work-From-Home policy, we are required to utilize IT and transform digitally, but are we ready? EuroCham Technology Working Group together with EuroCham Finance, Tax, and Investment Working Group held a webinar on 28 July 2020 to try to address this. The Webinar is part of the Technology Webinar Series that seeks to discuss the impact of the current COVID-19 pandemic on digital transformation by companies and the applicable acceleration needed.

The session was moderated by Leonard Anilaputra Eggert (EuroCham Deputy Head for Finance, Tax, and Investment Working Group and Chief Representative Indonesia of LBBW) and enlivened by two distinguished speakers, Riki Arif Gunawan (Head of Subdivision of Electronic Certification Service Provider, Ministry of Communication and Informatics) and Antoine Schweitzer (EuroCham Head of Technology Working Group and Country Head of IDEMIA). The discussion scrutinized on how companies can implement the digital way of doing business by using electronic certificates and digital signatures.
