Event Reports

The Energy Working Group held its kick-off meeting this year on 31 January 2019. The meeting discussed latest policy updates in particularly related with progress made in the Energy Sector relevant with the group activities. The group also discussed the development of the upcoming Position Papers, events and advocacy activities. The most recent updates being shared was about the outcome of meeting with Director General of Electricity regarding Solar Paper, as well as discussion with Director of Bioenergy about biodiesel and biogas to support power generation sector. Overall, 25 participants representing member companies participated in this meeting.

The group met on 31 January 2019 to share updates and planned upcoming activities to advocate improvements on few import provisions. The group also collected inputs from member companies about the priority issues to be followed up this year and included into the upcoming sectoral position papers. The group observed there have been some improvements in terms of simplified procedures and regulatory framework for some sectors. However, import provisions of certain commodities have become more restrictive during the year therefore further dialogue with the policy makers are encouraged. The overall meeting and discussion were moderated by Rachmat Hidayat of Danone Aqua and Prita Hapsari of Unilever as the Head and Deputy Head of the Working Group.
