On 6 August 2019, some representatives of the EuroCham Technology Working Group held their first courtesy meeting with the government officials. The working group met with Mr. Semuel Abrijani Pangerapan, Director General of Application and Informatic and exchange views on the latest development of draft bill on personal data protection. The meeting also intended to formally EuroCham support to the ministry in reviewing and sharing business perspective’s views on the bill. Among the results, both Eurocham Technology working group and ministry agreed that the future stand-alone Regulation on Personal Data Protection will comprehensively address issues on classification of personal data and to also stipulate limitations on the processing of said data. The Ministry of Communication and Informatic is looking forward to receiving more feedback from European industry players for the purpose of the development of the draft regulation.

The Agriculture Sub-Group within the Agriculture, Food and Beverages Working Group met on 1 August 2019. The meeting is intended to share latest updates of policy framework development in the sector, and also exchange information with the invited external speakers from the Center for Law and Policy Study (PSHK), Mr. Ronald Rofiandri (Director of Monitoring, Evaluation, and Network Strengthening). The discussion between PSHK with member companies included the following topics: process of legislation drafting within the house of representatives, progress of national priority legislation 2019, and priorities of government regulations, president regulations, few draft bills that are relevant to the agriculture sector.
