Support the Zero Emissions Movement Danone-AQUA Installs PLTS Roof At Mekarsari Factory

Danone-AQUA inaugurated PLTS Roof with a capacity of 2,112 kWp at the Mekarsari factory which is claimed to be the largest Danone-AQUA factory in Indonesia. This Rooftop PLTS is capable of generating electricity of 2.3 GWh per year, and reducing 1,916 tons of CO2 per year. The installation of the Mekarsari Rooftop PLTS is part of Danone-AQUA's commitment to support the Government of Indonesia in achieving its Zero Emissions ambition by 2060, increasing the new renewable energy mix to 23 percent by 2025, as well as the West Java Provincial Government's efforts to increase the implementation of new renewable energy to 6, 8 GW by 2025.

Vera Galuh Sugijanto, VP General Secretary of Danone Indonesia said, Danone-AQUA is a pioneer in the use of PLTS Roofs in the domestic industry since 2017. "Efforts to support the Government of Indonesia in accelerating the transition to the use of renewable energy in Indonesia are a manifestation of Danone-AQUA's commitment to become a Zero Emissions or Carbon Neutral company in the company's entire supply chain by 2050. As well as the use of 100% renewable electrical energy by 2030, " he explained in an official statement, Tuesday (21/9). Vera said that until now there have been four Danone-AQUA factories that utilize Rooftop Solar Power Plants with a total installed capacity of 6.2 MWp. It doesn't stop here, it has set a target so that Rooftop PLTS can be used as an option for renewable energy sources at 21 Danone-AQUA factories throughout Indonesia, with a capacity of up to 15 MWp by 2023, while continuing to explore other innovative renewable energy options.

Diageo Indonesia Donates Oxygen Concentrator for Indonesia

Diageo Indonesia, a global leader in the British alcoholic beverage industry with leading brands including Johnnie Walker, Smirnoff and Guinness, on 20 August 2021, officially handed over 50 units of oxygen concentrators to the Ministry of Industry. This initiative is Diageo Indonesia's commitment to contribute in accelerating Indonesia's recovery efforts from the COVID-19 pandemic. The oxygen concentrators that Diageo provided was Philips Resipronics Everflo, which were imported from the UK and can produce 5 liters of high concentration oxygen per minute. Oxygen concentrators have also become an important tool for treating COVID-19 patients with low blood oxygen levels found in many cases.

In line with what was conveyed by the Director General of Agro Industry, Diageo Indonesia’s Managing Director, Puneet Narang, also said that, "The COVID-19 pandemic has had a negative impact on public health and the economy anywhere in the world, including Indonesia. We continue to look for opportunities to actively participate in accelerating recovery efforts, and we believe medical infrastructure such as these concentrators can help Indonesia's recovery in a sustainable manner.” This Diageo Indonesia initiative is part of Diageo's global commitment to actively assist countries affected by the COVID-19 pandemic where Diageo operates.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic occurred in March 2020, Diageo Indonesia has donated alcohol to produce more than 120,000 bottles of hand sanitizers. Together with the Ministry of Industry, the Tabanan Regency Government, and BPOM Denpasar, the hand sanitizers were distributed to frontline health workers and people in need.
