The European Business Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia (EuroCham) met on 25 March 2019 with the DG for Metal, Machineries, Transportation Equipment, and Electronics, Mr. Harjanto, who was accompanied by Ms. Dini Hanggandari as the Director of Metal Industry. The purpose of the meeting is to propose simplification on import requirements of iron and steel made products required by European manufacturers in Indonesia. Currently under the Minister of Trade Regulation No. 110 of 2018 on Import Provisions for Iron or Steel, Alloy Steel, and its Derivatives, in conjunction with the Minister of Industry Regulation No. 1 of 2019 that regulates issuance of its technical recommendation, there is no longer an exemption provided for importation of less than 1 metric ton by manufacturers not related to the targeted iron and steel industry.
