Danone Aqua Pledge on Plastic Waste Management

EuroCham was invited to attend Danone Aqua Indonesia pledge on plastic waste management through the company’s #BijakBerplastik movement which took place on 5 June 2018 at Raffles Hotel, Jakarta. Attended on behalf of H.E. Siti Nurbaya Bakar, Minster of Environment and Forestry is Mr. Novrizal Tahar, Director of Waste Management of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry. He expressed his hope that the pledge and movement will inspire other producers of plastic packaging. As the main highlight of the event, the pledge and commitment of Danone Aqua was delivered by Mrs. Corine Danielle Tap, President Director of Danone Aqua Indonesia alongside with Mr. Novrizal Tahar, Ms. Christine Halim (Chairwoman (Indonesia plastic Recyclers Asociation/Adupi), Mr. Ryan Alfons (Marketing Director of Alfamart), and Mr. Ismail Said (Chairman of Dompet Dhuafa Republika Foundation).

Another highlight of the event was the talk show with distinguished speakers including Ms. Nani Hendiarti, Assistant Deputy for Empowerment of Maritime Science and Technology of Coordinating Ministry of Maritime affairs, representative of Ministry of Environment and Forestry and Mr. Karyanto Wibowo, Director for Sustainable Development of Danone Aqua. After the talk show, the invitees were directed to see Danone Aqua #BijakBerplastik exhibition before headed back to the event venue for break fasting together.
