Meeting with the Customs Main Office on Procedures to Get Preferential Tariffs Based on FTAs

On 18 January 2019, the EuroCham Transport and Logistics Working Group approached the Directorate of International Customs and Inter-Agency to consult on remaining issues in the implementation of Minister of Finance Regulation No. 229 of 2017 on Procedures to Get Preferential Tariffs Based on FTAs. The group representatives were met by Buhari Sirait as the Deputy Director for Regional who was accompanied by other officials from the directorate. Topics specifically discussed were about the transit and transshipment procedures, deadline for submission of original copy of Certificate of Origin, and lastly the requirement to include information of shipment route in the through bill of lading. During the meeting, the Customs Main Office also shared latest development made to accelerate negotiation with other partner countries to implement electronic Certificate of Origin.
