On 14 March 2019, Ministry of Manpower invited International Business Chamber to discuss on Draft of Ministry of Manpower Decree on Foreign Workers. The meeting was led by Ms. Roostiawati (Director of Labor Market Development) whom representing Director General of Binapenta and PKK, accompanied by Mr. Hery Sudarmanto (Pejabat Fungsional Pengantar Kerja Utama), and Ms. Yanti Nurhayatiningsih (Deputy Director of Analysis and Foreign Permit – KEK and PTSP).

Ministry of Manpower hoped that the inputs from International Business Chambers can be discussed with related ministries and adjusted with the current condition of supply and demand labor market in Indonesia. The chambers are now compiling all the inputs, which will be later submitted to the Ministry for consideration.

Following the success of the Energy Dinner in 2016 and 2018, the Working Group held the 3rd Eurocham Energy Dinner on the 12 March 2019. This event gathers all relevant stakeholders within the energy sector and fosters stronger relationship with governments and key opinion leaders.

The dinner attended by many policymakers in the energy sector, including the newly-appointed Director General of New and Renewable Energy Mr. F.X. Sutijastoto; Director Energy Conservation Mr. Hariyanto; Deputy Director of Regulation and Supervision of Electricity Business Mr. Afrizal; Mr. Zainal Mutaqin (BKPM).

In addition to gathering all relevant stakeholders, the dinner also marked the symbolic handover of Eurocham Energy Position Paper 2019 pre-launched version to the government representative in attendance. This pre-launch gathers the feedback prior the official launch of final version to be published at the end of April.

The EuroCham Energy Position Paper has always been a token of partnership and a symbol of support towards the improvement of business climate in Indonesia. The paper share a glimpse of what European business point of view as well as contribute to the development of energy sector in Indonesia.
