On 3 April 2018, EuroCham was invited to a public consultation meeting by the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, which evaluated the implementation of Regulation No. 229/PMK.04/2017 on Procedures for the Imposition of Import Duty under International Agreement or Treaty Frameworks. As a follow up to this meeting, EuroCham submitted written inputs to the Customs on 9 April 2018 highlighting the need to extend the deadline for submission of original COO to the Customs, as well as creating clear procedures in case of transshipment or non-direct shipment.

EuroCham attended the Indonesia Sustainability Seminar 2018 by Most Valued Business. The event commenced on 29 March 2018 at Raffles Hotel, Jakarta. There are several distinguished speakers on the event including HE. Judit Nemeth Pach, the Ambassador of Hungary, IBCSD, as well as distinguished panelists including President Director of DB Schenker Indonesia, Mr. Asok Kumar. The ambassador presented about women empowerment issue while Mr. Asok Kumar presented DB Schenker environmental program to lower the emission produced and how the value is embedded in the company’s target in Indonesia. He also mentioned about what the company has done in the country such as having their own eco-friendly warehouse and CSR activity conducted in the country. The event closed with afternoon coffee break and networking session.
