Indonesian Citizen Summit 2.0

The conference continued with panel session with presentation from Sustainable Development Goals Secretariat in Indonesia and joined by CEO of MeetChange. L’ORÉAL – UNESCO for Women in Science 2017 – Award for Indonesian Female Scientists in Advancing the World of Science

On 9th November 2017, L’Oréal Indonesia once again awarded the L’ORÉAL – UNESCO for Women in Science National Fellowship Awards 2017 for the 14th time to four brilliant female scientists capable of partaking in transforming Indonesia’s future medical world. The four female researchers are as follow: Ms. Retno Wahyu Nurhayati Ph.D – Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia, and Ms. Yulia Yusrini Djabir Ssi, Msi, MBmSc, Ph.D, Apt – Faculty of Pharmaceutical, University of Hasanuddin (Life Science Category); Dr. Siti Nurul Aisyiyah Jenie – Chemistry Research Center, LIPI (Material Sciences Category); Dr. Yuliati Herbani – Physics Research Center, LIPI (Engineering Sciences Category).

This year’s awarding ceremony was attended by Ir. Ira Nurhayati Djarot, M.Sc, Ph.D, Director of Research and Development System of the Indonesian Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education; Dr. Ir. Bastari, Head of Data and Statistic Center of the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture; Marlina Moegijono Putri, SE, Head of Sub Division of Gender Facilities in the Environment of the Indonesian Ministry of Women Empowerment and Child Protection; Shahbaz Khan, Ph.D, Director of UNESCO; Prof. Dr. Arief Rachman, Chairman of National Indonesian Commission for UNESCO (KNIU); and representatives from Indonesian Young Scientists Academy (ALMI).

Through this program, L’Oréal aims to support women in science as we believe that their involvement in science and technology is undeniably important to bring changes to this country. Let's celebrate their roles as an inspiration that has reinforced the significance of science for the future, and to encourage them in pursuing a career in science.
