EuroCham Head of Cosmetics Working Group, Mrs. Uti Daniawati Mahanani, was invited to speak as one of the panelists at a webinar held by the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH), a member of EuroCham. The event was entitled, “Polish Cosmetics Industry Expansion to Indonesia”, and was held on Monday, 13 July 2020. Mrs. Uti introduced EuroCham and its Cosmetic Working Group as well as presented policies related to the cosmetics sector, which includes the regulatory landscape and halal implementation for cosmetics.

On 3 July 2020, EuroCham was invited by the Director of International Customs and Inter-agency of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, R. Syarif Hidayat, to a workshop on two draft regulations on Procedures for Imposition of Import Duty based on ASEAN-Hong Kong, China Free Trade Agreement (AHKFTA) and Regulation on Procedures for Imposition of Import Duty based on Indonesia-Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership (IA-CEPA). These two regulations were finally issued under the Minister of Finance Regulation No. 80 and No. 82 of 2020 in the following weekend and takes effect on 4 July and 5 July 2020 respectively.

An introduction of the upcoming changes was presented by Martediansyah, Deputy Director of International Cooperation, and Leni Rachmasari, Head of Section for Region II from the Customs Main Office. These two regulations stipulate the requirements and conditions for import of most goods coming from the two regions in relation with its import duty tariffs. Reportedly most goods can be zero rated instead have to be imposed by general tariff of 10%. EuroCham were represented at the Meeting by the Head and Deputy of the EuroCham Import-Export Procedures Working Group, as well as the Deputy of the Transport and Logistics Working Group.
