Chemical Working Group Meeting: Finalizing EuroCham Position Paper 2018

The Chemical Working Group held a meeting on 24 October 2017, to discuss policy update in chemicals sector. Shared during the meeting were the Government Regulation on Tariffs and State Income from Food & Drugs Monitoring Agency, Minister of Agriculture Regulation Draft on Import & Export of Animal Origin Product, and Halal Law implementation updates.

The meeting focused its discussion on finalizing the draft of Chemical Position Paper 2018. The topics covered under the 2018 Position Paper are Halal Law, Import of Industrial Salt, Importation and Distribution of Hazardous Substances, Registration and Notification of Hazardous and Toxic Substances, Draft Regulations on Management of Hazardous and Toxic Substances, and Chemical Substance Bill. Further inputs were given by meeting participants, including view from Responsible Care Indonesia (RCI) - an initiative that aims to improve safety, health and environmental performance of chemical industry operations. Both EuroCham and RCI identified similar concerns and positions, thus both agreed to align our advocacy efforts to create stronger voices.
