Public Procurement Meeting with the EU Delegation

On 18 July 2019 few representatives of various EuroCham’s Working Groups met with Mr Raffaele Quarto, Head of Trade and Economic Section of EU Delegation. The objective of the meeting is to share experiences public procurement process in practice, as well as challenges and restrictions that could limit the possibility for EU companies to participate on an equal footing in tenders and procurement processes. Inputs gathered from this meeting will be feed into the discussions on the EU’s International Procurement Instrument (IPI) proposal that are now taking place in the European Council. The key objective of IPI is to provide the EU with a tool to help opening up procurement market in third countries, including Indonesia.

Debriefing of 8th round of EU-Indonesia CEPA Negotiation

Following the latest 8th round of EU-Indonesia CEPA negotiations between EU and Indonesia on 17-21 June 2019 in Jakarta. On 25 July 2019, EuroCham jointly with the EU Delegation Office in Jakarta arranged a debriefing to share about the progress made and latest status of the CEPA negotiations. The full report from the last round of negotiation has also been made public by the EU at their official website, showing details per negotiating area. It was noted in the meeting that some chapters are more well advance than other in the negotiation, such as in the matters of trade remedies, SPS measures, merger and anti-trust, customs and trade facilitation, as well as SMEs. EuroCham in this meeting was represented by Mr. Wichard von Harrach (Vice Chairman of EuroCham), as well as few heads and deputies of EuroCham working groups.
