KOCHAM New Year Networking Dinner 2020

Following collaborations on taxation advocacy activities in early 2020, EuroCham was invited to a new year networking dinner 2020 organized by the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry Indonesia (KoCham) on 20 February 2020. The dinner was hosted by CK Song as the Chairman of KoCham, also invited representatives from other foreign chambers including the American Chamber of Commerce, and the Jakarta Japan Club. Few EuroCham Board Members as well as leader of Working Group joined the dinner and on behalf of EuroCham Joos Louwerier as a board member shared his general remarks on future collaborations.

EuroCham-BKPM Indonesia Economic & Investment Outlook 2020

The European Business Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia (EuroCham) is once again partnered up with the Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) for the 4th annual Indonesia Economic and Investment Outlook for 2020 in Jakarta on 17 February 2020. The highly anticipated event was conducted following a successful dialogue in previous year that focused on the importance of Industry 4.0, which this year’s edition had build on, but shifted the focus towards the ease of doing business in the country as well as efforts taken to further attract investment and enhance the economy.

This year’s outlook was not only intended to project economic and investment potentials in 2020 but also to showcase ongoing reforms conducted to improve the Ease of Doing Business in Indonesia. This laudable move was welcomed by many the private sectors, but the need to communicate the details is still necessary to ensure a streamlined progression to the new policy and regulatory regime. For this purpose, key speakers joined a dialogue including the Chairman of BKPM Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati, Deputy for Commerce and Industry Bambang Adi Winarso, Director General of Tax Suryo Utomo, the EU Ambassador to Indonesia H.E. Vincent Piket, and representing the private sector perspective Ay Tjhing Phan, the President Director/Head of Tax of PwC as well as Agus Ciputra, the President Director of BASF.
