EuroCham Spoke at Mandiri Investment Forum 2020
EuroCham Indonesia was invited to participate in the 9th Mandiri Investment Forum, held on 5-6 February 2020. The forum gathered more than 700 participants, including 120 foreign institutional portfolio investors, and aim to attract foreign direct investment to transform Indonesia into an industrialized economy and become part of the global value chain.
Speaking at session about “Investing in Indonesia: Global Players’ Perspective”, was Corine Tap, Chair of EuroCham Indonesia, in all European panelists with representative from Unilever and Michelin, which highlighted the global companies’ perspectives concerning the investment opportunities and climate in Indonesia.
EuroCham also attended the breakfast meeting with Chairman of Indonesia Investment Coordination Board, and voicing European business concerns. European investors are here for a long-term investment, and therefore praise all the reform effort made by the Government to improve the ease of doing business in Indonesia. Looking ahead, the finalization of free trade agreement of IEU-CEPA will also further attract the investors as well as give more assurance for the businesses
Danone Aqua X water.org Seminar
EuroCham was invited to a half-day seminar by Danone Aqua X water.org on 30 January 2020. In Indonesia, Danone Aqua is expanding access to water through a partnership with water.org. The event opened by one session presented by the Ministry of National Development Planning representatives to present a general description of the condition of access to drinking water and sanitation regarding Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Our EuroCham Head of Sustainable Development Working Group, Karyanto Wibowo (Director Sustainability, Aqua Danone) became one of the speakers during the second session which discussed Water and Sanitation Financing. The session was closed by a discussion on best practices for water and sanitation financing.
