ASEAN-US Workshop on Electric Vehicle Ecosystem
EuroCham virtually attended the ASEAN-US Workshop on the Electric Vehicle Ecosystem on the 26th October, organized by the Ministry of Transportation of Indonesia. The workshop provided an in-depth understanding of the EV ecosystem in ASEAN, shared experiences on the development of EVs infrastructures, including charging infrastructure, through private investment involvement, and determined potential areas of cooperation for the development of the EV ecosystem.
The workshop was accommodated by experts and practitioners from the US and within the ASEAN region, including Dr. Alloysius Joko Purnomo, Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA), Mr. Yutthavonn Kak, Department of Land Transport of Cambodia, Alex Schroeder, Joint Office of Energy and Transportation of US, Dr. To Nam Toan, Ministry of Transport of Viet Nam and Ben Prochazka, Electrification Coalition of US.
Socialization on MoF Regulation Draft on Excise Tariffs for Imported Goods (RCEP)
On 21 October, EuroCham participated in the socialization of the Draft Minister of Finance Regulation (RPMK) regarding the Procedure for Imposing Import Duty Tariffs on Imported Goods Based on the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (RCEP). The socialization was opened by Mr. Gusmiadirrahman, Deputy Director of Regional Affairs of the Indonesian Directorate General of Customs and Excise, and led by Leni Rahmasari, Head of Regional Section III of the Directorate of International and Inter-Agency Customs, Ministry of Finance.
This draft regulation was prepared following the ratification of the ASEAN Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (RCEP) through Law No. 24 of 2022, promulgated on 27 September 2022. In its entirety, the RCEP is projected to be implemented by 1 January 2023.
