Sustainable Development Working Group Leaders' Meeting

On 16 February 2022, the leaders of the EuroCham Sustainable Development Working Group met to coordinate future activities. The Meeting was the first conducted in 2022 following the launch of the EuroCham Contributions to SDGs Report in January 2022. The Meeting reviewed the group’s activities carried out in the previous year and discussed plans for this year’s activities such as conducting several events in the format of working group meetings or webinar events by inviting external speakers. The meeting also discussed on how to amplify and highlight the EuroCham SDGs report by utilising social media.

Webinar on Electric Vehichle Infrastructure

On Wednesday, 15 February 2022, Eurocham Indonesia together with other European Business Organizations within the region held a webinar on: “Electric Vehicle Infrastructure – Challenges and Opportunities in Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, and Vietnam”. The meeting was moderated by Paulo Mutuc (Principal Consultant at Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific) and joined by Shiwen Doong (General Manager of Shell Mobility Singapore), Paulo Duarte (Managing Director of Bosch Philippines), Hans de Visser (Managing Director of BMW Group Malaysia), and Wim Elshout (Regional Lead of ABB E-mobility Vietnam) as the event’s speakers.

During this webinar, the speakers shared their perspective on the Electric Vehicle business landscape in a number of countries within ASEAN. Topics that were also highlighted included safety issues in the development of EV infrastructure in Southeast Asia, the future of infrastructure development for the Electic Vehicle industry, and comparison of government action in the respective countries. The meeting concluded with remarks delivered by Alvin Lee (the Head of Government relations Asia Pacific at Here Technologies).
