Energy Leaders Meeting
On 17 February, the EuroCham Energy Task Force met to discuss the EuroCham Energy Position Paper 2022. This annual publication can be regarded as a supportive contribution to Indonesia’s efforts to improve the economy and business climate, as well as the overall well-being of the country. As in previous years, the Energy Working Group once again decided to highlight the topic of Renewable Energy in Indonesia. Based on this meeting, a number of recommendations will be provided to highlight potential investments in the energy sector that Indonesia can potentially attract.
The T20 Indonesia Inception Conference
On 9 February 2022, EuroCham was invited to the T20 Indonesia Inception Conference entitled, “Realizing Inclusive Recovery from the COVID-19 Pandemic”, which serves as the opening meeting for the group of think tanks and research institutes. The event was conducted virtually from 9 - 10 February 2022. The Inception Conference aims to guide policy innovations during Indonesia's G20 presidency that addresses priority areas ranging from climate change to digital transition, from social cohesion to growth and financial stability. This meeting was joined by the Minister of Foreign Affairs (Retno Marsudi), the Minister of Health (Budi Gunadi Sadikin), the Managing Director of the World Bank (Mari E. Pangestu), Profesor Jeffrey Sachs of Columbia University, and Profesor Bambang Brodjonegoro in his capacity as the Co-Chair for the T20.
