On 27 January 2022, the EuroCham Tobacco Working Group met to coordinate the drafting process of the Tobacco Position Papers 2022. The meeting was chaired and co-chaired by Andre Setiawan of JTI and Anita Eka Lestari of Sampoerna in their capacity as the Head and Deputy Head of the Working Group. The meeting decided to provide a timeframe of two weeks for member companies to contribute to the drafting process of the Position Papers, before this draft is complied and further reviewed by the Working Group.

A task force within the Pharmaceutical and Medical Technology Working Group gathered in an online meeting on 26 January. This meeting was aimed at deciding the 2022 Position Paper’s framework that will be further developed and updated content-wise on specific issues. As a follow-up, a separate task force meeting will susbsequently be held to discuss other pending issues within the Working Group, including the Halal policy’s implementation for drugs and medical devices.
