Seminar on Electricity Supply Business Plan hosted by METI.
On 18 June, EuroCham attended a seminar on Electricity Supply Business Plan (Rencana Usaha Penyediaan Tenaga Listrik/ “RUPTL”), hosted by METI. This seminar’s main speaker, Rida Mulyana (Director General of Electricity, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources), shared to the audience adjustments within the State Owned-Electricity Company, PLN’s 2021-2030 RUPTL as the Green RUPTL. The main points of the adjustment includes the electrification ratio target of 100% by 2022, achieving the new renewable energy mix target of 23% by 2025, no additional coal-fired power plants except for those with financial closing, acceleration of inter-island and inter-island interconnection, and relocation of power plants. To reduce oversupply in Java, as well as the portion of new and renewable energy generation in the 2021-2029 RUPTL will be targeted higher than the 2019-2028 RUPTL portion.
