Automotive Working Group Meeting with Pertamina
On 29 April 2021, the Automotive Working Group organized a joint meeting with experts from Pertamina to exchange updates on preparation for the implementation of Euro IV standard for fuel in Indonesia. The Meeting was opened by a presentation by Daniel Purba, Head of EuroCham Automotive Working Group and Associate Director External Affairs of Mercedes-Benz Indonesia. This presentation covers the latest trend on sales of diesel vehicles in the country and its projection, legal basis of the current policy, type of vehicle engines that are commonly used for Euro IV standard, and technical risks if such engines do not use Euro IV Standards. Following this introductory presentation, experts from Pertamina represented by Remigius Choerniadi Tomo, Product & Service Development Manager, PT Pertamina (Persero) and a number of his collegues from Pertamina also shared the state-owned company’s plan for the implementation of the standard in future.
EuroCham Attended Socialization of BPOM Regulations
On 28 April 2021, the National Agency for Food and Drug Control (BPOM) conducted a socialization on BPOM Regulation No. 8 of 2021 on the Forms and Types of Certain Cosmetic Preparations that Can be Produced by the Cosmetics Industry that Has a Cosmetics Production Certificate for Group B. This event also highlight the issuance of BPOM Decree No. HK.02.01.1.2.03.21. 125/2021 on Technical Guidelines for the Issuance of Recommendations for the Application of the Cosmetics Notification, both conducted online and offline.
The activity was opened by the Deputy for Supervision of Traditional Medicines, Health Supplements and Cosmetics, Reri Indriani, and chaired by the Director of Standardization for Traditional Medicines, Health Supplements, and Cosmetics, drh. Rachmi Setyorini. The purpose of the event, which was attended by more than 300 participants from associations and businesses operating in the cosmetics sector as well as BPOM officers throughout Indonesia, was to provide a better understanding for businesses about the provisions of the two regulations.
