On 12 March 2020, a Task Force within the Pharmaceutical and Medical Technology Working Group held a small coordination meeting to discuss on upcoming publication of position paper. Started with talked about the outline of the paper, the group agreed to develop the background in relevant with the President Joko Widodo’s mission, namely Human Resource Development, Acceleration of Infrastructure Development, and Economic Transformation in order to support the healthcare sector. Like a previous position paper, the group also formulated key recommendations on the current challenges and development in the sector, namely Halal Law Implementation, Local Content Requirements, Patent Law, and Public Procurement for Drugs and Medical Devices Commodity.

On 4 March 2020, EuroCham Tobacco Working Group held a meeting at the office of JUUL Labs in Jakarta. The agenda of the meeting is topics that should be included to the EuroCham Tobacco Position Paper 2020. The meeting agreed that some priority issues should be included to the papers including the latest development of the Tobacco Bill, Excise Policy, Innovation within the Tobacco Industry and Tobacco Import Provisions, etc. As a follow up to this meeting, the group is currently finalizing the Position Paper.
