On Wednesday, 5 February 2020, the Agriculture, Food and Beverage Working Group held a meeting to specifically discuss issues of the Agriculture sub sector. Doni Wiroto as the Head of working group led the discussion on several topics such as Registration of Pesticides, implementation of Law No. 22/2019 on Sustainable Agriculture Cultivation System, and regulation on the Electronically Integrated Registration for the Agricultural Sector. The working group also discussed the Draft Regulation on Toxic and Hazardous Substance which is also under the radar of the Chemical Working Group. In addition, the group also discussed a cross sectoral topics regulated under the Minister of Trade Regulation No. 81/2019 on Standardization in Trade.

On 4 February 2020, EuroCham Chemical Working Group held its first meeting in 2020. The Group discussed several regulatory updates relevant to the sector, among others was on Minamata Convention and Indonesia’s Plan for Reduction and Elimination of Mercury which aim to reduce and eliminate use of mercury by restricting manufacture and import or export of mercury contained products starting in 2020. Other related regulations, such as relating to Continuous Monitoring of Wastewater Quality; Green Industry Standards for the Water-Based Paint Industry; and Emergency Programs for the Management of Hazardous and Toxic Materials and/or Hazardous and Toxic Material Waste were also shared to the members. At the end of the meeting, the Group decided on some priority topics that would be included in the 2020 Chemical Position Paper.
