On August 14, 2018, Eurocham Energy Working Group was invited to attend the Focus Group Discussion on Fiscal Incentive Impact toward Renewable Energy Investment in Indonesia, held by Fiscal Policy Agency within the Ministry of Finance.

The FGD share the preliminary findings on impact analysis of fiscal incentive for Solar and Micro-hydro power generation and some mix policies scenario with its impact assessment. Attended by relevant stakeholders from the government and industry, the discussion provide a lot of feedback to the finding and also further recommendation to proceed.

As part of a series activity that aim to revise the incentive fiscal policy for renewable energy investment, the process show positive approach in effort to make evidence-based policy. The revision of fiscal incentive in the making aims to be ready by the end of this year.

Preceded by discussion on Agriculture sector on April 2018, the Agriculture, Food & Beverages Working Group held another meeting to specifically discuss the Food and Beverages sector on 14 August 2018. Took place at EuroCham office, the meeting discussed several regulations related with food and beverages sectors such as regarding registration for processed food, alcohol beverages, draft regulation on barcode requirements, also provide updates regarding ongoing drafting of regulations relevant to the sector including draft bill on Water Resources, draft bill on Alcohol Prohibition, and implementation of Halal Law. The meeting agrees to keep monitoring the development as well as taking advocacy actions to address common concerns.
