Kick off Chemical Working Group Meeting
Chemical Working Group held the kick-off the regular bi-monthly meeting on 15 February 2018, with the main agenda to discuss on policy update relevant with Chemical sectors and shared the Working Group Activity Plan for 2018.
Discussed during the policy update were about the on-going BPOM bill, simplification of import for restricted products (LARTAS) and its follow-up of implementing regulations, which particularly related the BPOM BPOM Regulations on Import provision on food and drugs ingredients, Ministry of Health Regulations on import of Medical Devices and Household Health Supplies, and Ministry of Agriculture Regulations on Registration of Pesticide.
While for the working group plan this year, the group agreed to be more proactive and will continue to maintain relationship with the Ministry of Environment and Forestry in regards to the on-going progress of Government Regulation draft of Hazardous and Toxic material Management (RPP B3), as well as the current practices on registration for items under supervision of the ministry.
Transport & Logistics Working Group: Mr. Mathias Ruebke Steps Down, Election to be Held
On 14 February 2018, the group met to jointly discuss new policies in the logistics sector, the Transport and Logistics Working Group held its meeting. The meeting also attended by officials from the Indonesia Logistics and Freight Forwarder Association (ALFI), which was represented by Mr. Arman Yahya (Head of ALFI Soekarno-Hatta Region).
The meeting discussed the new cargo manifest regulation, customs bond requirements, new regulation on preferential tariff under FTA Scheme. Furthermore, the meeting also shared updates on implementation of new import policy and post border supervision, as well as development of VAT and Withholding Tax policy for the sector.
The meeting was also the last appearance of Mr. Mathias Ruebke (Panalpina), as the Head of Working Group, who had led and directed all activities in the last 1.5 years. Meanwhile, Mr. Yigit Sariciar (DB Schenker) retains his position as the Deputy Head of the Working Group.
The Working Group expresses its gratitude to Mr. Mathias Ruebke for his tenure at EuroCham. The position for the Head of Working Group is still vacant until the next election to be held.
