PT Strawberindo Lestari, a subsidiary of our Dutch holding Allseasons Holland BV, is a berry farm established in 2002 on the island of Java, Indonesia on the slopes of a dormant volcano, Gunung Gede Pangranggo. The farm is situated at an altitude of 1,200 to 1,500 metres, in a tea growing area about one hundred kilometers south-east of Jakarta. The ideal climate in combination with the use of hydroponics and greenhouses ensures that the farm can grow and supply berries all year round. Our farm is GlobalGAP certified, which means that we comply with stringent social, environmental and food-safety standards.

At present we produce strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and blackberries. The varieties of strawberries and raspberries we grow are the result of a breeding programme specifically aimed at developing berry varieties suitable for our specific climatic conditions in the mountains of Indonesia.

Our berries are marketed under the brands Golden Berries, All Seasons, Celebrations and Sweet Hearts. They are available at most major retail chains throughout Indonesia as well as online at Sayurbox.com or through our own website Allseasonsholland.com. Some of our other customers include major hotel chains, bakeries and restaurants as well as a number of retail chains in Bangkok, Thailand.

Unilever Indonesia provided PCR test kits to the COVID-19 Handling Acceleration Task Force. This assistance is needed in testing individual swab samples in the coronavirus spread. Unilever Indonesia donated more than 40,000 PCR test kits valued at IDR 10.7 billion.

This assistance was then distributed through the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) to several hospitals, laboratories, and health facilities throughout Indonesia. The PCR assay amounted to 40,320 packages consisting of antigen test kits, reagents, and swabs with their containers. PCR test kits have been distributed to several health facilities, including Dr. Soetomo (Surabaya), Hasan Sadikin General Hospital (Bandung), Eijkman Molecular Biology Institute (Jakarta) and the Bogor Institute of Agriculture Laboratory.

The Director of PT Unilever Tbk Hemant Bakshi said it took a long time to get out of this crisis and to be able to get back up. Previously, it had donated N95 masks through the Association of Indonesian Hospitals (PERSI) when the need was urgent. The company has also donated its products to help improve hygiene and public health.

"At present we see that nationally the supply of PCR test kits is still needed in the handling of a pandemic, so we have brought these test kits to Indonesia. We know, currently the demand for PCR test equipment is very high in the world, "he said in a press release on Wednesday (6/17/2020).

In addition, a support in the form of PCR test kits, Unilever Indonesia through Lifebuoy health soap has distributed 200,000 soaps to hospitals in Indonesia, and 1,320 handwashing soaps have been distributed to 400 mosques in Jakarta through BNPB. As of this month, IDR 83 billion has been donated by Unilever Indonesia to Indonesia through various forms of assistance.
