Unilever Holds “YOU-STEP” Program, Prepares 21 Students with Disabilities for the World of Work
Unilever Indonesia has introduced the YOU-STEP program to promote fairness and inclusivity, particularly for individuals with disabilities in the workplace. In partnership with Inclusive Indonesia Connection (KONEKIN), the initiative aims to enhance the skills and knowledge of 21 selected disabled students over six months through workshops and mentoring.
The program addresses the current challenges faced by disabled individuals in securing formal employment, as there is still a significant disparity in job opportunities for them in Indonesia. Unilever Indonesia is committed to promoting diversity and inclusion, aligning with the global strategy of 'The Unilever Compass.' This program aims to empower disabled students to succeed in the workforce by providing valuable skills and mindset development.These efforts include promoting tolerance, supporting youth development, conducting internal audits, and ensuring disability-friendly policies and practices. Ultimately, Unilever Indonesia aims to empower disabled individuals to pursue successful careers and contribute to an inclusive society.
