On the 1st of December, EuroCham was cordially invited to the “Jakarta Economic and Investment Optimism 2023” talk show hosted by the JIC (Jakarta Investment Center) Talks at the DPMPTSP of DKI Jakarta. The event gave an in-depth discussion on the effects of inflation and its impact to Jakarta’s investment climate. The discussion was moderated by Ahmad Giffari (Head of Economy of Bappeda) and invited various speakers including Denny Irawan (Head of Research and Economics PwC), Fithra Faisal Hastiadi (Economist of Universitas Indonesia), and Reska Prasetya (Senior Economist of Bank Indonesia). The event concluded that Jakarta is projected to have a strong and resilient growth in 2023 despite the economic uncertainty in Indonesia.

On the 24th of November, EuroCham was honored to be invited by the EU Delegation to discuss the business engagement in the energy transition sector. The meeting was opened by Henriette Faergemann (First Counsellor Environment, Climate Action, ICT of the EU Delegation to Indonesia), who briefly introduced the EU’s initiative for the green transition in Indonesia. The meeting discussed several agendas that highlighted the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) agreement, potential for wind power development in Indonesia, and financing the energy transition. The discussion itself was attended by distinguished speakers that comprised of Thibaut Portevin (Head of Cooperation from the EU Delegation to Indonesia), Miroslav Dijakovic (Deputy Head of the EuroCham Energy Working Group & Director of Cleantech Solar), Robbert Groenen (Pondera Consult), Representative of the Embassy of Poland to Indonesia, and Representative of Agence Francais de Developement (AFD).
