Published on 17 June 2026

On 5 May, EuroCham had the pleasure to attend a seminar titled “The 20th Sadli Lecture: Monetary and Fiscal Policies to Support Sustainable Economic Growth with Improvement in Its Distribution” at Universitas Indonesia. The highlight from the seminar was the lecture by the former Governor of Bank Indonesia (1993 - 1998), Prof. Dr. J. Soedradjad Djiwandono, discussing Indonesia's economic development during his time as Governor of Bank Indonesia, Indonesia’s fiscal policy from past to present, and the current effect globalisation has on emerging markets.

The event’s purpose was also to explore the possible sustainable/economic approaches, lectured by economic experts, by which Indonesia could adopt to better adapt in these times of geopolitical and economic uncertainty.

The event provided EuroCham an insightful outlook towards Indonesia’s economic development. We would like to thank The Institute for Economic and Social Research, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Indonesia (LPEM FEB UI) for their invitation to EuroCham to attend this seminar.
