Socialization of BPOM Regulation on Cosmetics
On 25 January 2022, the National Agency for Food and Drug Control (BPOM) conducted a socialization on BPOM Regulation No. 33 of 2021 pertaining to the Certification of Good Cosmetics Manufacturing Practices (CPKB), and the Head of BPOM Decree No. HK. 02.02.1.2.10.21.440 of 2021 on the Granting of Single Notification Number for Cosmetics Packaged by Several Cosmetic Industries in Indonesian During the Covid-19 Pandemic. The event was attended by over 1000 participants, representing business actors and associations in the field of cosmetics as well as BPOM’s technical units throughout Indonesia.
Based on the event, the issuance of BPOM Regulation No. 33 of 2021 is expected to provide convenience and clear guidelines for business actors in managing the CPKB Certification. This regulation will also serve as a reference for BPOM officers in providing public services and supervision in the field. The Head of BPOM Decree is issued to support and develop the cosmetic business climate in Indonesia during difficult times brought about by the current COVID-19 pandemic.
Meeting with the World Bank
On 24 January 2022, EuroCham met with a team from the World Bank represented by Abhimanyu Dadu from the Trade, Investment and Competitiveness Unit of the World Bank. The purpose of the meeting was to provide feedback on the World Bank’s flagship Climate Change and Development Report (CCDR) for Indonesia. EuroCham was represented in this meeting by the Head of the Finance, Tax, and Investment Working Group, Omar Abdulkadir. This meeting discussed some of the issues pertaining to investments in Indonesia, both in the form of foreign and domestic direct investments. The discussion also exchanged general views on the investment climate and the potential to catalyze green growth in Indonesia.
