EuroCham was invited as an observer to the 34th ASEAN Cosmetic Scientific Body (ACSB) Session, which was arranged virtually on 5-6 October 2021. The session was also also joined by several representatives of the BPOM technical units and representatives from the Ministry of Health. Some of the agenda points discussed were the amendment to several EU regulations on cosmetic that might be adopted by the Annexes of the ASEAN Cosmetic Directive, safety of climbazole in several products, cosmetic refilling, cosmetic in vials and ampoules, and customized cosmetic products, and nano ingredients (definition and marking). The meeting agreed to adopt Methoxypropylamino Cyclohexenylidene Ethoxyethylcyanoacetate as a sunscreen ingredient.

EuroCham was invited to participate in the preparation meeting for the ASEAN Cosmetic Scientific Body (ACSB) Session on 4 October 2021. During the meeting, the National Agency of Food and Drug Control (Badan Pengawas Obat dan Makanan/BPOM) informed the agenda to be discussed at the 34th ACSB Session and sought feedbacks from businesses in the cosmetic sector. This meeting provides an opportunity for industry players’ including EuroCham members to provide inputs.
