Webinar on Risk Based Approach Business Licensing Process, Investment Priority List and the Online Single Submission System
On 20 August 2021 EuroCham along with other foreign chambers and associations is invited by the Coordinating Ministry of Economic Affairs to a Webinar on Risk Based Approach Business Licensing Process, Investment Priority List and the Online Single Submission System. The systems were introduced and enacted as part of effort to ease doing business in Indonesia, and in line with Indonesia’s economic transformation process. Keynote speech was provided by H.E. Airlangga Hartato (Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs) which was followed by presentations by senior officials from the Coordinating Ministry. Elen Setiadi (Expert Staff to the coordinating minister for Regulation, Legal Enforcement and Economic Resilience) presented Indonesia’s regulatory economic transformation. Lestari Indah (Expert Staff to the coordinating minister for Productivity Development and Economic Competitiveness) shared the main changes introduced by the risk-based approach for business licensing process and online single submission. Susiwijono (Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry) presented latest changes in the investment regime introduced by the Investment Priority List.
Socialization of Draft Revision on Patent Law
On 18 August 2021, EuroCham representatives along with other relevant chambers and associations were invited to the Socialization of Draft Revision on Patent Law (UU No. 13/2016) that was held by the Directorate General of Intellectual Property, Ministry of Law and Human Rights. The socialization was led by Ibu Dede Mia Yusanti Direktur, Director for Patents, Layout Design of Integrated Circuits and Trade Secrets. The process of revision had been through the consultation with experts to check the alignment with the WTO and TRIPS provisions. The process of revision has started since January this year, and expected to be ratified by the parliament by the end of this year as well. With the revision, it is expected that the Patent Law could have more improved community services in patents and better aligned with the patent development both in domestic and international ground.
