On 9 January 2020, the Food and Beverage Working Group organized an ad-hoc meeting to follow up outgoing letter that has been delivered by EuroCham to the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs that addresses the ongoing challenges faced by companies when importing dairy products originated from the EU. The meeting was chaired by the Head of the Agriculture, Food and Beverage Working Group, Mr. Doni Wibisono (Public Affairs Manager of Frisian Flag). During this meeting, the few members attending discussed and agreed on key messages that need to be highlighted during the upcoming meeting with the Ministry.

On 13 January 2020 EuroCham met the Director of International Tax of Directorate General Tax, Mr. John Hutagaol. In this meeting, EuroCham was represented by Mr. Prawira Atmadja (CFO of BASF Indonesia) as EuroCham Board Member, Mr. Omar Abdulkadir (Taxation Service Advisor of PwC) as the Head of Finance, Tax, and Investment Working Group, and Mr. Sugyanto Halim (CFO of DB Schenker) as the Deputy Head of Transport and Logistics Working Group for Tax, Finance, and Investment.

The meeting prepared and discussed technical details of the upcoming planned meeting with the Director General of Tax, Mr. Suryo Utomo. This meeting is aimed to provide opportunities for both parties to exchange views on development of taxation policies in Indonesia. For the DG Tax, the upcoming meeting could serves as a platform to socialize the ongoing tax reform efforts as well as the omnibus law initiative. As for the Chamber, could provide also an opportunity to provide inputs based on observations related to current taxation development at the strategic policy level.
