Event Reports

The Energy Working Group held its kick-off meeting this year on 31 January 2019. The meeting discussed latest policy updates in particularly related with progress made in the Energy Sector relevant with the group activities. The group also discussed the development of the upcoming Position Papers, events and advocacy activities. The most recent updates being shared was about the outcome of meeting with Director General of Electricity regarding Solar Paper, as well as discussion with Director of Bioenergy about biodiesel and biogas to support power generation sector. Overall, 25 participants representing member companies participated in this meeting.

As the next step to explore the initiative on EuroCham sustainability report, the committee held its second meeting on 30 January 2019 at EuroCham Office. The committee for Sustainability Report initiative is formed under EuroCham Sustainable Working Group specifically for the formulation of the report. Upon its completion, the report aims to be handed over to the relevant government ministries and agencies to highlight contribution of EuroCham members on sustainability issues particularly towards achieving Sustainable Development Goals. Prior the meeting, the committee decided to distribute a short questionnaire to all EuroCham members to find out contribution in the sustainability area as well as opening the opportunities for the members to participate in the report initiatives.
