Event Reports

On 29 January 2021, the Pharmaceutical and Medical Technology Task Force met to discuss three agendas, namely list of Pharma and MedTech advocacy activity in 2021, Position Paper 2021, and Draft Government Regulation on Halal. This meeting decided:

1. The Bimonthly meeting of the Pharmaceutical and Medical Techology Working Group to be organized by end of February or no later than early March, by inviting a speaker from the government;
2. The Sectoral Position Paper 2021 is pending until implementing regulations of the Omnibus Law is all released; and
3. The working group looks forward for the issuance of the draft Government Regulation on Halal, as only then a comparision with inputs submitted to the relevant ministries can be done.

EuroCham’s Retail Working Group met on 27 January 2021, which was participated by 10 members from the sector. The Group jointly reviewed past and upcoming activities, including topics discussed in 2020, as well as ongoing issues that will be pursued in 2021. The group specifically exchanged updates on the current safeguard measures investigation, and the implementation of the Minister of Trade Regulation No. 68/2020 on Import Provisions for Footwear, Electronics, and two- and three-wheeled bicycles. This meeting also briefly shared information on the status of implementing regulations of the Law No. 11 of 2020 on Job Creation. Lastly, the working group also exchanged ideas on advocacy strategies that can be taken to accelerate improvements.
