Chemical Working Group Meeting
In order to provide policy updates relevant with Chemical sector, the Chemical Working Group held its regular meeting on 7 November 2019. The topics that being discussed were: the Updates on Minister of Industry Regulation No. 19 of 2019 on the Prevention and Mitigation of Chemical Emergencies related to Chemical Industry Business Activities that has been effective now since 13 November 2019; New Minister of Trade Regulation on Imports of Salt that eases salt importation for analysis and R&D use; Revision to the Minister of Trade Regulation on Import and Distribution of Hazardous Substances which now restricts flow of distribution of Hazardous Substances to the end users; Minister of Trade Regulation No. 66 of 2019 on Amendment to Regulation No. 22/2016 on General Provisions of Distribution; latest development on draft Government Regulation on the Management of Hazardous and Toxic Substance; and lastly the timeline of Halal Certification for Chemical Products.
Energy Working Group met DG EBTKE
On Monday, 11 November 2019, the Energy Working Group met with FX Sutijastoto (Director General of New Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources). The meeting discussed investment on various renewable development in Indonesia, either through Biogas, Solar PV, Hydro, Geothermal, and Wind. The group in this opportunity was represented by its head of working group, Thomas Wagner and its Patron Board David Cullerier, along with few other members. The meeting also addressed key issues for energy projects such as the policy on scheme of Build Own Operate Transfer, its buyback option, local content requirements, as well as power purchase agreement and its pricing model or calculation of the renewable energy sources.
