Automotive Working Group

On 10 January 2019, EuroCham Automotive Working Group attended a Focus Group Discussion on formulation of Indonesian National Standards (SNI) for Electrified Vehicle (EV) organized by Ministry of Industry at Grand Savero Hotel, Bogor. EuroCham participation was aimed to identify and mapping of standards needed for the development of Electrified Vehicles industry in Indonesia. The group discussion was opened by Director of Maritime, Transportation, and Defense Equipment, Mr. Putu Juli Ardika who also moderated one of the panel sessions.

The first panel discussion invited expert speakers to present standards applied for EV in other countries and addressed some suggestions for EV standards in Indonesia. During this panel, Mr. Nukman Wijaya, Head Division of National Standards Agency (BSN) presented existing standards regime in Indonesia. He mentioned that BSN has formed a technical committee on EV Standard. The second panel looked at perspectives of local associations as well as readiness from the component sides. The motorcycle industry was represented by Indonesian Motorcycles Industry Association (AISI) and carmakers was represented by the Association of Indonesia Automotive Industry (GAIKINDO).

Transport & Logistics Working Group Meeting

On 20 December 2018, the Transport and Logistics Working Group met to specifically discussed and exchange updates on taxation issues in the sector. The meeting was chaired by Sugyanto Halim from DB Schenker as the Deputy Head of the Transport and Logistics Working Group for Tax, Finance, and Investment. The meeting is also attended by Michael Herrmann from Geodis as the EuroCham Patron Board Member for the Group. Topics discussed among other were the drafting process of position papers of 2019, latest development on industry’s proposals on VAT and Income Tax on International Freight Services, and collection of income tax Article 26 and Article 23. Lastly, the group discussed the issuance of new DG Tax Regulation No. 25/2018 that will take effect on 1 January 2019 and applies a new DG Tax Form.
