On 18 December 2018, EuroCham Tobacco Member Forum had the chance to meet with Ms. Moriana Hutabarat, the Head of Sub Directorate of Tobacco Control of the National Agency of Drugs and Food Control (BPOM). At the meeting, Ms. Moriana was also accompanied by other representatives from the sub directorate. Following an introduction of EuroCham Tobacco Member Forum and its activities, representatives of the Member Forum, Wilson Andrew (HM Sampoerna) and Hami Setiyawan (JTI Indonesia) exchanged views regarding development and challenges of the industry. During the meeting, Ms. Moriana presented an overview of the outcome of supervision of tobacco products and also shared advises for the industry to aligned their operation based on policies on supervision of tobacco products. It was agreed during the meeting that EuroCham Tobacco Member Forum will maintain close relationship with BPOM.

The Ministry of Trade of the Republic Indonesia, the European Union Delegation in Jakarta, the European Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia (EuroCham), the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN), and the Indonesian Employers Association (APINDO) will conduct a joint action in a Indonesia-EU Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IEU-CEPA) Roadshow. The roadshow aims to build trust and mutual understanding among regional and local business and also government. On the 4th September 2018, we will be visiting Makassar.
