Group Discussion on Pharmaceutical and Medical Technology
On 26 July 2019, EuroCham Pharmaceutical and Medical Technology Working Group in collaboration with US-ASEAN Business Council conducted a Focus Group Discussions (FGD) on Government Procurement for Healthcare in the Era of Universal Healthcare. The event was opened by Landry Subianto (Chief Country Representative US-ABC Indonesia and Hanum Yahya (Head of Pharma & Medtech Working Group Eurocham Indonesia). The discussion itself focus on few challenges in the implementation of the National Health Assurance, among other the procedures and public procurement methods related to e-catalogue procurement. Under the Presidential Regulation No 16 of 2018, the procurement of drugs and medical devices is carried out through electronic procurement system. This discussion is intended to build an open and constructive dialogue with relevant policy makers and industry players invited as the speakers, namely Prakorsa Grahayudiandono, (Ministry of National Development Planning), Sri Utaminingsih, (National Public Procurement Agency), Wahyu Nurcahyani, (Ministry of Health), Rosalina Saleh (Novartis), and Reswita Gisriani, (Medtronic).
Energy Working Group Meeting
EuroCham Energy Working Group held the monthly meeting on 25 July 2019 with two agendas, namely the policy updates based on energy efficiency papers and special discussion with two internal speakers Ms. Eva Pitterling (TUV Nord) and Mr. Thomas Dreessen (INDESCO). Ms. Eva shared about “New Standard on Sustainable and Resilient Infrastructure” and Mr. Thomas presented “Streamlined PPP/ESCO Process in 2 Demonstration Energy Efficiency Projects for ADB Program”.
The group is committed to supporting and contributing to the efforts done by the Indonesian Government in achieving the climate targets and reduce the cost of energy used. Some key issues were arisen in the energy efficiency papers along with its respective recommendations, such as amendment of Government Regulation No 70 of 2009, increased energy efficiency through several international funding organizations, and energy efficiency investment by the financial sector. Inputs on the papers were welcomed before the finalization of recommendations to be delivered to the Minister of State Secretariat on the revision.
