Focus Group Discussion on Cosmetic Claim as Product Innovation

On 28 August 2018, EuroCham Cosmetic Working Group held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with the topic of “Cosmetic Claim as Product Innovation”. The FGD aims to provide a forum to share information regarding current regulations on claim cosmetics, trend on claim in cosmetics, as well as customer trend in the Indonesian.

Discussed in the FGD were evaluation and supervision process in cosmetics claim, products name, and relation between product category or claim and ingredients. All stakeholders hoped that similar discussion can be regularly held between the policy makers and the private sector to further discuss more specific the implementation of the policy. The FGD invited stakeholders from National Agency for Food and Drug Control (BPOM) represented by the Directorate of Standardization Traditional Medicine, Health Supplement, and Cosmetics; Directorate of Cosmetics Supervision; and Directorate of Cosmetics Registration. To provide insights on Indonesia cosmetics consumers, FGD also invited consumer market research. During the FGD, all participants including several local associations can directly exchanges views and proposals on trend of cosmetics claim.

Energy Working Group Courtesy Meeting with Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources

On 24 August 2018, Eurocham Energy Working Group met with Mr. Hariyanto, the newly appointed Director of Energy Conservation, Directorate General New and Renewable Energy, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

The meeting aim as a courtesy meeting to introduce Eurocham Energy Working Group and find any potential collaboration as well as to find out the direction in the Energy Conservation and Energy Efficiency field in Indonesia. Attended to represent the working group were by Ms. Eva Pitterling, Deputy for Energy Efficiency, and Mr. Christophe Comte, Deputy for Power Generation

Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation is of major importance to the EuroCham Energy Working Group and its members. The meeting was concluded with the possible future collaboration to promote energy efficiency towards business and public general.
