The Executive Office of the President Invited EuroCham
On 17 May 2018, EuroCham attended an invitation by the Executive Office of the President to discuss joint inputs submitted on Minister of Finance Regulation No. 158/2017 on Inward and Outward Cargo Manifest Regulation with ALFI, KoCham, JJC, US-ABC, AmCham, and IBC.
During the meeting, the Executive Office of the President represented by Mr. Bimo Wijayanto (Senior Advisor – Department of Analysis and Oversight of Strategic Issues on Social, Cultural, and Ecological Affairs) and Mr. Agung Krisdiyanto (former Head of Intelligence Section III, DG Customs). In addition to the Cargo Manifest Regulation, both EuroCham and ALFI briefly raised issues surrounding the implementation of the Minister of Finance Regulation No. 229/PMK.04/2017 on Import Duty under FTAs.
Human Resources Member Forum: CEO Talks on Vocational Education
On Tuesday, 15 May 2018 EuroCham in collaboration with Association of Polytechnics and Industry Indonesia (APII) organized CEO Talks on Mechanisms and Impacts of Dual Vocational Education for Industry in Indonesia. The event was attended by H.E. Yvonne Baumann, Ambassador of Switzerland to Indonesia who delivered her remarks which then followed by keynote remarks from Mr. Haris Munandar, Secretary General of Ministry of Industry. In this occasion, both speakers addressed the importance of training in company alongside the formal session in class for the vocational education.
The event continued with presentation by Chairman of APII which later joined panel discussion moderated by Ms. Anastasia Susanto, EuroCham Project Manager. To provide different perspectives on the topic of discussion, the event invited distinguished panellists including Mr. Patdono Suwignjo (Director General for Institutional of Science, Technology, and Higher Education – Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education), Mr. Tony Sinambela, (Director for Access of Industrial Resources and International Promotion - Ministry of Industry), Mr. Michael Herrmann (Managing Director – Geodis Wilson Indonesia), Mr. Tony Silalahi from Yayasan Astra Bina Ilmu, and Mr. Kiky Hendarin from Swiss Contact.
The event continued with question and answer session in which the participants asked how the government will encourage business to conduct training/internship and also promote vocational education to students. To close the meeting, Mr. Ulf Backlund, Chairman of EuroCham handover the token of appreciation to the panellists
