Automotive Working Group Meeting
On 23 April 2019, the EuroCham Automotive Working Group met to exchange latest updates on policy developments. Specifically discussed were development of draft CO2 Emission-Based Taxation, procedures to get preferential tariffs based on FTAs, import regime on commodities related with the automotive sector including tyres, iron and steel made products. The mandatory application of bonded logistics center for importation of these products by traders are also discussed in this meeting. Also discussed were steps taken by the government to implement the 30 percent biodiesel mixture or B30 Policy currently under testing stage. The group also briefly discussed the latest action taken by the government of EU and Indonesia regarding Crude Palm Oil.
Pharma & MedTech Working Group
On 22 April 2019, the Pharmaceutical and Medical Technology Working Group held its regular meeting at Astrazeneca Indonesia office. The meeting was set up in new format with breakout sessions to encourage more active discussion from all participants, encompassing key topic such as Halal Law implementation, Local Content Regulation for Pharmaceutical, and National Health Insurance pricing issues in parallel. Some inputs were collected from different perspectives of the members and at the end the group agreed to convey few points to relevant institution/ministry in order to accommodate the group advocacy, particularly on Local Content Regulation for Pharmaceutical and Halal Law implementation.
The meeting invited guest speakers from BPJS Health, Andina Rahmaniyah, who provide updates on National Health Insurance (JKN), and Ronald Rofinadri from PSHK who shared legislation insight in Indonesian House of Parliament during the transitional period. The next meeting scheduled in June, will be hosted by Abbott.
