EuroCham Agri-food & Beverage, Chemicals, Cosmetic, and Pharma & Medtech Working Group jointly met with Halal Product Assurance Body (BPJPH) on 14 May 2018. Received by Ibu Hj. Siti Aminah, S.Ag, M.Pd, Deputy Head BPJPH for Halal Registration and Certification the meeting was running in the production and constructive meeting.

BPJPH shared the current status of implementation plan and also received concerns conveyed by the industry. Some insights on the institutional preparedness as well as regulatory framework, non-halal labeling, provision for healthcare products, and international cooperation were being discussed. While Eurocham members in attendance were giving insights on potential problems and technical hurdles in the field that is specific for each sector, in which BPJPH openly received and willing to elaborate further.

On 11 May 2018, EuroCham working groups jointly discussed the input submission for the halal implementing regulation draft (RPP Halal). The meeting was further follow up to the joint input submission as had discussed earlier amongst cross-sectoral associations and other fellow chambers. Collective input will further proceed through APINDO who are leading the submission to the government.
