Dialogue with DG Pharmaceutical & Medical Devices Services
The Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Working Group met with Ibu Linda Sitanggang, Director General of Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices Services, Ministry of Health, on Wednesday, 20 December 2017.
The group had previously engaged with DG Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Services in the past, and conducted closing year meeting to exchange views and discussed the current developments related to the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices sector, under the overarching theme “Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices, Year in Review and Year Ahead”. Were discussed during the meeting, some issues regarding the clarification of recent development on Local Content for pharmaceutical and medical devices, Halal Law implementation, Patent Law implementation, and the progress of the JKN listing process that is currently in progress.
The DG warmly welcomed the visit and appreciated the continuous communication between industries with the regulators to seek common understanding. The DG further said that local content for pharmaceutical is inevitable, and therefore industry must be ready to change the mindset.
Plan to Implement 24/7 Services at the Soekarno-Hatta Main Customs Office
EuroCham attended a meeting on 20 December 2017 by the Customs and Excise Service Office of Soekarno-Hatta, jointly with representatives from the Soekarno-Hatta Trade Facilitation Committee (STFC), the Indonesian Logistics and Forwarders Association (ALFI), and Indonesian Association of Express Delivery, Postal, and Logistics (ASPERINDO). The purpose of the meeting was to discuss plan to implement 24/7 Services at the Soekarno-Hatta Main Customs Office and explored type of services and supporting services such as banking and warehousing that could remain operational 24/7. The implementation of 24/7 operations at major airports and seaports around the country would certainly have a major impact in reducing congestion.
