On 5 July 2018, the Energy Working Group held a meeting with Mr. Harris, Director of Various New and Renewable Energy, and Mr. Dian Wirengjurit, Special Staff to the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, to share insights on the pipeline regulations and programmes by DG EBTKE.

Chaired by Mr. Thomas Wagner as the Head of the Energy Working Group, the meeting commenced with a presentation by Mr. Harris, explaining the progress of PPA to date. Following the presentation, there was a discussion session involving all meeting participants on the challenges and potential collaboration for Renewable Energy projects, such as RE financing, issues identified with the BOOT scheme, registration and direct selection by PLN, as well as incentives and regulatory simplification.

The fruitful discussion led the Working Group to clarify certain issues, and determine possible business-to-business opportunities/areas in which their participation is needed and wanted. The meeting ended with the representatives of ESDM willing to further discuss these topics in the future.

The Energy Working Group held a group meeting with the European Investment Bank (EIB) 28 June 2018, hosted by EU Delegation office in Jakarta. The meetin was part of EIB mission in Jakarta on 28 June - 3 July, with the objective to identify projects in line with their Climate Action objectives and provide financing to support the development of such projects.

The sectors that they consider to be included in the financing support scheme are Renewable Energy, Energy Generation and Distribution (excluding Coal), Urban Transportation, and Water or Agribusiness as long as their Climate Action objectives are met.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Antonin Clazarossa, representing the European Investment Bank (EIB) and Mr. Thomas Wagner (Head of Energy Working Group), along the members of the Working Group.
