EuroCham was also invited to the ASEAN-Indo Pacific Forum Side Event “Implementing the EU Global Gateway in the ASEAN Region”, hosted and organized by the EU Mission to ASEAN. This event officially commenced with opening remarks from H.E. Sujiro Seam (Ambassador of the EU to ASEAN), followed by speeches from Prof. Wihana Kirana Jaya (Special Staff for Economic and Transportation Investment, Ministry of Transportation Republic Indonesia), Kris Peeters (Vice President of the European Investment Bank (EIB)), and René Piil Pedersen (Managing Director of A.P. Moller - Maersk Singapore).

The Automotive Working Group held its regular meeting on 5 September at the EuroCham Office.

The meeting was led by the Head of the Working Group, Daniel Purba (Head of External Affairs at Mercedezs-Benz Indonesia). The group also had the honor to invite Wiwit Kartika Sari and Edi Wibowo, representatives from the Directorate of Road Transportation Facilities, Directorate General of Land Transportation, Ministry of Transportation Republic Indonesia, to discuss the development of the ratification and implementation of the ASEAN MRA on Type Approval for Automotive Products, as well as the development of Type Test Roadworthiness Threshold Requirements in Indonesia.

The meeting was followed by discussions on current ministerial policies to reduce emissions, the development of EV Charging Infrastructure, conversion from combustion engines to electric-based motorcycles, as well as updates on business standards.
