On March 8, EuroCham attended the online socialization of Minister of Industry Regulation No. 8 of 2024 on Procedures for Issuing Technical Considerations and Recommendations for the Import of Certain Upstream Chemical Industry Commodities.

The regulation is an implementing regulation of Minister of Trade Regulation No. 36 of 2023 on Import Policy and Regulation, which specifically addresses certain upstream chemical industry commodities including plastic raw materials, hazardous materials, natural gas, nitrocellulose, saccharin & cyclamate.

EuroCham Indonesia was represented by Erike Yanidia, Head of the Chemical Working Group and Regulatory Management & Trade Compliance Manager at Merck Chemicals and Life Sciences

On March 7, EuroCham was honored to be invited to "Barn Raising 2024: Moving Forward Together for a Better Indonesia," hosted by Danone Indonesia, a platinum member of EuroCham. The event commemorated B Corp Communication's collaboration with the Indonesian government to support the government's sustainable development target in creating a positive impact on the environment.

The event began with opening remarks from Rosy Wediawaty (Director of Trade Investment and International Economic Cooperation from the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas Republic of Indonesia), highlighting the government's support to promote the B Corp certification in improving competitiveness for local products through responsible business operations in the global market. This was followed by an insightful panel discussion moderated by Thomas Ng (Lead of B Market Builder Southeast Asia) and featured distinguished speakers: Muhammad Neil El Himam (Deputy for Digital Economy and Creative Products from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy), Karyanto Wibowo (Director of Sustainable Development of Danone), Mercy Aritonang (Chief People Officer from The The Body Shop Indonesia) and Bertram F. (Chief Sustainability Officer of SukkhaCitta).
