Webinar by the Royal Norwegian Embassy, in cooperation with the Indonesian Embassy in Oslo and The Nordic Chamber

On 24 November, the Royal Norwegian Embassy, in cooperation with the Indonesian Embassy in Oslo and The Nordic Chamber, invited the EuroCham Energy Working Group to participate in a webinar on, “Realizing Indonesia’s Waste Management Goals: Systems, Technologies and Investments.”. The webinar presented Norwegian technological solutions, financing options, and relevant experiences from Norway related to waste management governance to assist Indonesia in meeting its ambitious waste management goals. The meeting also featured industry-leading companies in the waste management and waste to energy sector, investors, and government experts. This webinar was followed by an after-class consultation for Indonesian companies and the Norwegian state-owned investment fund, Norfund’s Green Infrastructure Investments Team.

Meeting with the Ministry of Agriculture

EuroCham Agriculture, Food and Beverages Working Group along with the EuroCham Import-Export Procedures Working Group organized a virtual meeting with the Directorate of Veterinary Public Health of the Ministry of Agriculture on 24 November 2021. The meeting discussed several topics under the supervision of the directorate, namely Certification of Veterinary Control Number for Animal Product Business Unit, and Import Provision of Dairy and its Derivatives. This meeting was joined by several representatives from the Directorate of Veterinary Public Health, namely Endang Ekowati, Septa Walyani, and Apriyani.

The overall discussion was moderated by Rachmat Hidayat (Head of EuroCham Import-Export Procedures Working Group), to highlight the remaining challenges from the implementation of the Minister of Agriculture Regulation No. 11 of 2020, such as the certification process itself, labeling requirements, as well as alignment with other labeling requirements such as from BPOM, or Halal Labeling. The meeting provided members with the opportunity to also express their appreciation for the Indonesian government’s move to allow the import of dairy products and its derivatives from the EU. However, members also expressed their hope that the simplification of processes can continue to be carried out, especially within the regional government level.
