Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on “Cosmetics Refilling Business Model: Safety Concern of Cosmetic Products on Plastic Packaging Reduction in Indonesia”
On 27 July 2022, the EuroCham Cosmetic Working Group was invited to attend the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on “Cosmetics Refilling Business Model: Safety Concern of Cosmetic Products on Plastic Packaging Reduction in Indonesia”. The FGD was attended by representatives from the Ministry Environment and Forestry (KLHK), National Consumer Protection Agency (BPKN), Cosmetics Associations, the Private Sector as well as BPOMs Technical Implementation Unit representatives from across Indonesia. The FGD was opened by the Head of the BPOM, Penny K. Lukito, followed by an introductory presentation from the Deputy for Supervision of Traditional Medicines, Health Supplements and Cosmetics, Reri Indriani. Experts on good cosmetics manufacturing methods, as well as the delivery of feedback and input on this cosmetic business innovation was also presented in the event. This activity is intended to garner inputs from a cross-sectoral audience as well as relevant stakeholders in order to create the best policies to support the cosmetic industries efforts to develop their business and ensure the safety, benefit and quality of cosmetics distributed to consumers.
Excellence on Achieving A Corruption Free Zone (WBK)
The EuroCham Cosmetic Working Group was invited to virtually attend an event entitled, “Excellence in Achieving A Corruption-Free Zone” (Mantap Meraih Wilayah Bebas dari Korupsi or WBK) that was held on 26 July 2022. Organized by the Directorate for the Standardization of Traditional Medicines, Health Supplements, and Cosmetics of the Indonesian Food and Drug Authority (BPOM), the event began with opening remarks delivered by the BPOM Deputy for Traditional Medicines, Health Supplements, and Cosmetics, Dra. Reri Indriani, Apt, M.Si,. Organized to educate and inspire participants to achieve the WBK predicate, the event invited a number of speakers from the Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), the Ministry of State Apparatus Utilization and Bureaucratic Reform (KemenPAN) and other units that have already received the WBK predicate. Attendees were granted the opportunity to share their testimony on the services provided by the Directorate for the Standardization of Traditional Medicines, Health Supplements, and Cosmetics during the event.
